Awesome Arcade Mode, but Smartphone Mode is mediocre.

5/5 for Arcade Mode, 3/5 for Smartphone Mode, so Ill average the two and give it a 4/5 overall.

The shop/upgrade system in Smartphone Mode is rather obnoxious, but it couldve been much worse. Even ignoring the in-app purchases, the RPG elements simply dont mix well with the shooter game mechanics. At least the stuff I unlocked in Normal difficulty is more powerful than most of the cash shop stuff, which Im never going to buy. Overall, Smartphone Mode isnt terrible, but its quite a letdown considering CAVE usually does much better than this. The Smartphone Modes in Espgaluda II and DoDonPachi Resurrection were both absolutely brilliant. This, not so much. Its like seeing a straight-A student get a C.

Still, Arcade Mode is made of the usual CAVE awesomeness.
