Great game lots to do, and phone mode is really fun though would have been cool to customize the standard modes characters too. Price of the game is a bit high considering all the pay equipment available too.

Ever since I traded my 360 in for a ps3, I had no way of playing this game again at all. I recently got an iPhone and saw this game was available. At first I didnt believe it was the same thing until I decided to try it, and Im glad I did. This is IDENTICAL to the console version but with a whole lot of new content. Whether youre a Touhou fan, like quirky side scroller games, or just like loli girls in general, this is the game for you. Best game on the app market. Well worth the cover price!!!

Fantastic shooter, my favorite game for iPad (1st gen), sadly doing the latest update caused the game to no longer function. Highly recommended just not this current version.

This game got me addicted to bullet hell shooters, it only has a few stages, but I keep finding myself coming back to it playing it on hard mode. I love the concept of everything going on at once distracts you, really testing your reflexes and focus.

Oh cave you rock! The full game plus all the iphone mode gear? Expectations surpassed by miles! Please please make Akai Katana next!

IOS 8.1 update man

My favorite arcade game of all time. A game so good that it deserves 3 stars even when it fails to launch. Please fix it (or release a remastered HD version and Ill gladly buy it again). This is one of the great works of kinetic videogame art. Few people are patient enough to "get" the brilliance of its design--but everyone deserves to try! Hope to see it in playable condition soon!

Had played this game a couple years ago and wanted to play again, but the game simply crashes a few seconds after launch. Please fix!

This game is absolutely amazing!! Would easily get 5 stars if it worked on iPhone 5s. It could use more content but Im just sad I paid for it on my 4s and found out it broke when I upgraded to my 5s. :( :( Or maybe its just with the newest iOS. Either way, a fix would be AWESOME!!!

Update: Thank you Cave for fixing that annoying bug crash! Now come back to the states and port more of your amazing games! We need our twitch, bullet hell shooter fix too! Excellent port of the 360 version. However, as a previous reviewer stated, this version has no Black Label content and is NOT updated for the retina display. Hopefully Cave can ameliorate this by making an HD Black Label version (Id pay another 12-14 dollars)...Also, a Deathsmiles 2 port would be awesome (however, Ive heard rumblings that Cave is in some financial trouble so we might not be so lucky)...Despite these caveats, this is one of my favorite Cave (or for that matter any other company i.e., Taito, Konami) shooter that I have ever played. Do not hesitate if you like 2D-side-scrolling shooters...There is plenty of content here for the twelve dollar asking price! Good show!

Great characters/atmosphere, exciting gameplay. One of the best shmups for me. Really liked it. Hoping Deathsmiles 2 comes to ios. Thanks.:)

Is a must have shooter of IOS.

Seriously, what more can you want? Haha. But really this seems to be a port apparently. A well-done port. I like the added phone features, and although the controls are a bit confusing at first they work out. This is a different game from many and it is enjoyable so far for the brief time I got it. The price is a bit hefty but it has no sneaky in-app purchases and its fun.

I managed to get it free, so thats one less issue I could have. It really is good. The art style and music remind me of Castlevania SotN, but that is a really good thing. Its also fun for short time wasting or if you want a solid play through. It isnt perfect. The graphics are TINY, but they kind of have to be. It does get confusing at times with everything on the screen. But the weirdest is that any time you quit you will have to start from the very beginning. Thats not bad...but if you pick up a new item and forget to check if it is any good, you cant back out of the map or it starts ALL OVER. At least you keep the inventory. Its worth around $3 max if you want to buy it. It is still not on par with real handheld gaming systems like Vita.
